Andrew was the first person to interview a British Prime Minister live using Twitter to get questions from the public and use the tools he co-created at Tweetminster to measure public reaction in real time. He’d interviewed Nick Clegg twice but that didn’t really count. Andrew used to design and build websites and apps, now he ‘concepts’ things on scraps of paper in between phone calls whilst developing new social technology products.

Nerdy: right now he’s developing tools to extract business intelligence from social networks and use that to build dynamic news, sports and entertainment media products.

Really? Andrew loves skiing, comic books, schlock sci-fi movies, typography, cars, watches, wine, ponds, freshwater dwarf shrimp, playing guitar and is currently trying to create the perfect lawn.

Rock and Roll: Andrew won the Bournemouth International Music Festival classical guitar competition aged 10.

The ‘new’ Rock and Roll: Between 1993 – 1996 Andrew worked as a successful stand-up comic on the Edinburgh comedy scene. He still does secret gigs.

Songs of praise: Andrew was the only male to be invited to join the Radical Feminist Reading Group at Edinburgh University because of his essay about the Dutch Lesbian Sado-masochist movement of the early 1980′s and their role in challenging traditional patriarchal representations of women in media. (Translation: He blagged top marks for an essay which meant looking at loads of really kinky porn.)
